I WEEP NOT

I weep not for the author’s absence

In this fractured tribe

I weep for while they were present

They did not pause to scribe

I weep not for the  winter

Or when the moon is dark

I weep for while the moon was full

The harvest proved quite stark

I weep not for the laughter

Unheard at evening’s chill

I weep for while the day was young

The wind remained so still
