The Mirror

If it’s truth that you seek
Do not speak to a mirror
Unblinkingly meek
A weak mime will appear

With superficial gazes
On mazes and on walls
By which it appraises
Who stays and who falls

In the evening it is bleak
The mirror of the dim
If it’s truth that you seek
Do not speak to the grim
