I KNOW MADNESS

I know madness and she knows me
Longtime friend of the family
We’ve kept wonderful company
Genetics scorned by destiny

In our world of make believe
My companion loves to grieve
And in our laughter she keeps the tune
Of one who knows another’s moon

In abundance and every need
She is my left my right my creed
And in our world only she’ll
Know what is and isn’t real

DECEIVED

A timeless clock
Make haste
The hour
To tell a tale
Of sweet love
Sour

All unheard
All unseen
Lies behind
A love
Turned green

A tacit tale
Twisting lattice
Lacing lies
A tarnished
Status

All once grown
Is shown
To grieve
The tone
Of love
Known
As deceived

UNNOTICED

UNNOTICED

People like me
Know the clock
Can mean
Eternity
We’ve died
Enough decades
To know
People like me
Will come and go
Unannounced
Unnoticed
Perfectly secure
Not to mimic
Next door

People like me
Know the clock
Unwinds
It’s hands
To time
We have many
Memories
Unspoken
Unnoticed
Wonderfully fine
Spinning
Through time

People like me
Know the clock
Can’t talk
But tick
The time
While people like me
Forge a rhyme
Unheard
Unnoticed
Completely content
With a distant
Chime

I Miss Me

I miss me

When I wake
I take
What is left
Of me
Spend  time alone
Kissing cigarettes
And tea
During the day
Faraway
Invisible on the street
Eves I dine on wine
Sadness bittersweet
The moments in-between
Are often all unseen
Until a midnight chime
The sleepy  stars mime
Who I use to be
I miss me.

I miss me
